This clip shows a common mistake in freestyle – crossing over the midline with hand and arm in freestyle. We can correct this with a few skills and drills.  Within just 30 minutes, we can develop your stroke technique.

The swimmer would be disqualified if using this flutter kick in a competitive breastroke event. The feet must be turned outwards in the backward movement simultaneously and in the same horizontal plane without alternating movement.

This swimmer has now mastered the correct breastroke leg action and there is not a flutter kick in sight.
