Katie Doneo is a fully qualified and experienced ASA level 2 swim teacher. She was formerly a lifeguard for Hertsmere Leisure for seven years before moving to swim teaching, following in the footsteps of her mother and aunt.
Katie has been teaching for swim schools in the Borehamwood and St Albans area for the past two years, teaching regular swimming lessons, private lessons, crash courses, mums & babies, adult lessons, Rookie Lifeguarding and aqua classes. She has the ability to motivate and inspire swimmers to achieve their potential. Katie has attended a Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop, Disabled Go Access (Equality & Diversity) and possesses an OCR Level 2 NVQ in Sport, Recreation and Allied Occupations: Operational Services which includes promoting safety in sport and activity environments, customer satisfaction, equipment safety, maintaining the safety of swimming pool users and resolving customer service problems. Like all our swim teachers and coaches, Katie is regularly DBS checked (enhanced disclosure).
Katie delivers cutting-edge classes by maintaining positive relationships with members to encourage continued class attendance and is a highly competent and enthusiastic swimming instructor. In addition to swim teaching, Katie also works for Otters Disabled Swimming Club. Here she plans and delivers sessions appropriate to those with disabilities – correcting swim techniques and identifying ways to improve performance by adapting and improvising to particular disabilities and ensuring that lesson programs are safe and appropriate to the needs/abilities of the participants.
Katie conveniently lives in Borehamwood, near our Borehamwood pool venue.
