Gaby is a fully qualified Level 2 Swim Teacher. She is an energetic and enthusiastic teacher, who always looks to make swimming vital and fun for all those participating.
Gaby has been involved in a leadership programmes and whilst still at school, qualified as a Community Sports Leader (CSLA). This involved arranging activities from neighbouring primary schools and teaching children how to be active and healthy. Her leadership skills have taken her around the country and to Camp America where she worked as a camp counsellor for children aged 8-14. Here she was not only a lifefuard but taught swimming in swimming pools and open water. This has given her great new ways of teaching activities to younger members.
Gaby began her working career as a leisure assistant and lifeguard prior to becoming an assistant swim teacher and then qualifying as a full teacher. She initially worked for a leisure company in a busy and intense environment, learning how to work effectively as part of a team. Gaby then commenced teaching swimming locally in Bushey, St Albans, and South Oxhey where she taught adults as well as children. She co-ordinated comprehensive swim programmes at local level for a national private gym organisation as well as working for J9 Swimming in Northwood, Elstree, Bushey and Borehamwood prior to moving to Australia for a year. Here, Gaby gained her AusSwim qualifications and largely worked with adolescent children in schools swim programmes before moving back to England in 2019, reinvigorated and inspired by new teaching concepts.
Gaby has been DBS checked (enhanced disclosure) and has her QA Level 2 award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF). Moreover, she has attended a parent and baby (adult and child) course and is a fully-qualified Mermaid instructor. Gaby currently lives in Edgware.
