Helen Ford

Helen is a fully qualified level 2 swim teacher and has been working for The Borough of Harrow Swimming Club, in her capacity as a swim teacher, since she qualified in 2016. Her interest in swimming was piqued by her own competitive swimming background

She is adaptable and experienced in teaching swimmers from beginners to more advanced levels, in both classes and on a 1:1 basis. Helen is capable of implementing and using a range of teaching and organisational methods to assess participants and correct faults in swimming strokes.

Helen has attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop and has undertaken her Module 1 Team Manager Training with Swim England. Further she is a qualified Middlesex ASA judge and has officiated at competitive swimming galas for some three years. This requires an in-depth knowledge of swimming technique and how to spot infractions in races. She is DBS checked (enhanced).

Helen has an abiding interest in sport and this has led her to organising and teaching PE classes to year 7 pupils and primary school children. She is now a qualified level 1 sports leader and additionally, possesses her level 1 Korfball coaching qualification.
